Newfoundland and Labrador Games

The Newfoundland and Labrador Games (NL Games) is a weeklong multi-sport competition. The NL Games are hosted every two years by communities, alternating with Winter Games and Summer Games. It is the largest multi-sport event for youth, ages 11 to 18 years and involves participants from all regions of the province.

Each NL Games involves up to 1600 athletes, coaches, and managers competing in a variety of sports and requires the efforts of hundreds of volunteers. A successful event requires dedication and considerable planning by the Host Committee. The Games involved athletes and teams representing nine regions; St. John's North, Mount Pearl South, Avalon, Eastern, Central, Western, Labrador, Host region and St. Pierre et Miquelon.

Designed to generate participation in sport and to foster sportsmanship and the development of athletic skills, the NL Games is considered by some participants to be the highlight of their sporting experiences.
